Just a thought: What if yall reviewed a play? A good play can pack a lot of character development, ideas, insights, emotion, and plot into a work that’s short enough to read in one or two sittings. So, the investment of time is relatively small, while (if the play is good), the return on your investment is likely to be big, with a lot to appreciate and discuss.

I would be up for this. I’m an actress in my spare time–regional and community theater–so I read a lot of plays just as a matter of course. :)
It definitely depends on the play: some, like Lear, which I love, are quite long; and Shakespeare’s histories definitely need the background before they’re read/studied. However, there are quite a few good plays (Shakespeare included) that would make great reading, especially those that have good DVD versions.
